Refund and cancellation policy

Effective 19 October 2026. Applies to the HoztSync private pilot.

Trials and subscription cancellation

Eligible new workspaces receive a 14-day free trial when they complete card-required checkout. A legacy trial keeps its original end date, and a used trial is not restarted. Checkout shows the actual trial and charge dates. Cancel before your trial ends and you are not billed for that subscription; access continues until the trial ends.

After the trial, subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Cancel in Settings under Plan & billing to stop renewal at the end of the paid period. We do not refund partial months. Amounts already due remain payable. If we charged you in error, or if a fault on our side kept the Service unavailable for more than 24 hours in a billing period, write to hello@hoztsync.com within 30 days and we will refund the affected period. This does not limit rights that applicable law requires.

Cancellation does not delete the workspace or cancel guests’ stays, invoices or refunds. Exports remain available. Account or workspace deletion is a separate request under the Privacy policy.

Plan changes and failed payments

During a trial, a plan change applies immediately without an early charge and keeps the trial end. For a paid upgrade, you review the prorated amount before accepting; the higher plan starts only when Stripe confirms payment. A downgrade starts at renewal. Your paid allowance stays until then, and no partial-period refund is issued. If usage exceeds the new allowance at renewal, existing properties stay; additions and reactivations wait until usage fits.

If a subscription payment fails, HoztSync gives seven days from recording the failure to complete payment. The deadline appears in Plan & billing and the payment notice. Updating a card alone does not pay the invoice. After the deadline, new work pauses; existing guest payments, refunds, messages, exports and billing remain available. Successful payment restores full access. Scheduled cancellation does not erase an unpaid invoice or extend this recovery period.

Stays, booking deposits and security deposits

The owner or operator identified in the rental agreement is responsible for the stay and its cancellation terms. The guest reviews and accepts the saved agreement before paying. The booking may require full payment or a booking deposit followed by a balance invoice. HoztSync does not automatically charge a saved guest card for that balance.

A booking deposit is part of the accommodation price. A refundable security deposit is separate: its amount, permitted deductions and return deadline come from the accepted agreement. It is not included in HoztSync’s transaction-fee calculation. Neither a booking cancellation nor the end of a stay automatically returns a security deposit.

Cancelling a booking stops its unpaid invoices and reminders; it does not automatically refund money already paid. The operator checks the accepted terms and initiates any refund from the booking in HoztSync, including any refundable security deposit. For bookings paid through another platform, refunds follow that platform’s and the host’s terms.

Services and processing fees

Services are sold by the host, with payment going to the host’s Stripe account. Review any service terms shown before ordering and contact the host about cancellation. Where service terms are supplied, HoztSync asks the guest to accept them. HoztSync does not set a universal service cancellation allowance.

When an eligible amount is refunded, HoztSync returns the corresponding fee proportionally: 3% for additional services and 2% for direct-booking payments, after discounts and excluding taxes and refundable security deposits. Stripe’s own fees follow Stripe’s refund rules. The guest refund and HoztSync fee return are tracked separately and may finish at different times. A refund requested directly in Stripe must also be reconciled in HoztSync; its allocation may require operator review.

Refunds go to the original payment method. A requested or pending refund is not proof that funds have arrived. The operator can check its status in HoztSync; if processing fails or remains uncertain, it needs follow-up rather than another unverified refund request.
